I had an older model of these boots so I knew which size to get. This newer model solves the issues with my ankle pulling the zipper apart after a lot of use due to the curve of the zipper.I noticed that they tried to make it water tight by adding a piece of material to the inside of the zipper. My only reason for not giving them 5 stars is that they don’t open as wide because of it. I have a wider foot so it makes it harder to open it up enough to get my foot in as easy. I suspect that I will find it easier wearing them in over time to my feet.Other than that the gel in the heal make these Very comfy.
I found this boot comfortable and easy to get on and off with the side zipper. The material under the zipper that helps keep the boot semi water resistant looks a bit to thin, but its still holding after about a month of hard use..
After 10 years, i finally threw away my old boots (nasty and stinky). The old boots were of course Magnums as well. They did NOT wear out. They just smelled. We had them issued to us in the navspecwar unit in 2002. The very best boots I’ve ever owned, and I finally got another pair. Amazon has them for a great price. When I’m not in the mud with them, i use them as slippers. That’s how comfortable they are. Course….wife says I have to wear socks with this pair, so they don’t stink…lol. It hard to express how much I enjoy these boots. Ok, I was corrected. They did start coming apart at the bottom seams (AFTER 10 YEARS OF USE)….um, giving them a pass on that one…lol. Anyother boot doesn’t last me but 6 months to a year.
I ordered these because I’m starting the EMT/Paramedic course this spring and while I just needed “black leather shoes” for class, I figured I might as well get something that would transition into my normal work boot as well. I couldn’t be happier. These boots are so light I couldn’t believe it. They’re honestly lighter than a pair of running shoes I have. They required nearly no break-in time, except a little bit up at top. My only complaint is you have to be a little more careful with the zipper because it curves, and if you grab it and yank you can very easily jerk it off course.
These boots are not comfortable at all. They are too heavy. Also they creak pretty loudly when you walk. They are kinda cheap but you get what you pay for.
Great boot! I have been wearing these boots for quite a few years. They have to be about the lightest boot I have ever seen. I ride a motorcycle and I can get close to 2 years of service life before the soles wear out. I have tried several other “motorcycle” boots that will barely last 1 year. In a word these boots are AWESOME!!
My son has very high arches and generally very sweaty feet, so it’s been difficult to find shoes that fit and wear well. We bought these originally as hiking boots, but he now wears them every day, no matter where or what he’s doing! I’m looking to buy another pair (or two) to have them on hand when these finally wear out (so far over a year’s worth of daily use and still going strong)!
This is my second pair of Magnum boots. I use them for all around everything and motorcycle riding. I’m diabetic with foot sensitivity and have found Magnum boots to be the most comfortable for the price. I say for the price, but they are more comfortable than many more expensive boots too. I tried on some Harley boots and thought I was in heaven, but at over $300.00 I simply couldn’t afford them. I don’t ride Harley either, though I could care less if I wear a product that works well. Anyway, my previous pair had a few wear problems that has apparently been worked out with the newer boots. I’ve been wearing my boots daily, for riding, walking, getting pee’d on at the dog park, working in grease and wandering through the woods, with well over 5000 miles riding since I bought them. I have absolutely no complaints and am still quite comfortable, so much so that I rarely even wear my running shoes any more. For a diabetic, the hard toe and width just absorbs any bangs or scrapes and I gotta tell you, that’s scores a lot on my shoe point graph. I’m a 10.5 but purchased an 11 based on prior experience, so I can wear multiple layers of socks and foot liners/inserts. So there you have it, a multiple Magnum boot user and if you look at my reviews you know I call them as I see them. Magnum boots on Amazon are a particularly good match with a great comparative price and the most comfort for the money you can buy.
This is my second pair of Magnum Vipers. After wearing the first daily for over 3 years, I decided to replace them with another pair. The latest edition is very comfortable with excellent support and they’re extremely light weight. I wear them for motorcycle rides for comfort & safety. I ordered my regular shoe size & the fit was perfect. Amazon’s price & service is unbeatable, so you can’t go wrong here.
Magnum viper II are totally awesome, they have a quick release system with a zipper down the side allowing you to zip right out of the boots without touching the laces. Very comfortable on my feet. I’m a chef being on my feet for 8 to 10 hours is normal and I have no problems with these boots.
